How to edit your profile in WordPress

What fields can you edit in your profile?

  • Cover page
  • Profile picture
  • First name (automatically populated when you sign up, required)
  • Last name (automatically populated when you sign up, required)
  • Nickname (automatically populated when you sign up, required)
  • Company name (required)
  • Job title
  • Social (LinkedIn and Twitter)
  • About you
  • Fun fact about you
  • What you specialise in
  • Where are you based
  • What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given

You can set all of the above can be set to be viewed by ‘public’, ‘all members’ or ‘only me’ with the exception of first name and nickname – these are set to public.



How to create your profile

If you have not logged into the new to the site before, you need to (if you have logged in before see step 3.):

  1. Log in via the member portal: members.neechamber.co.uk
  2. Click on Manage News [BETA – NEW EXPERIENCE] and it will give you an introduction to the new members area



3. If you have previously logged in, you need to login here https://network.neechamber.co.uk/

4. Click on your name in the top right of the screen

5. select ‘profile’

6. then edit



7. Or click on ‘profile’ in the left side panel:


8. You will then be able to view and edit your details from here:

a. Some of the fields will already be populated but others might not be

b. If you have a gravatar account you may notice that your profile picture has automatically updated. 


9. How to upload your cover page

  1. Hover over the cover image and click on the camera that appears
  2. Click on select your file or drag and drop the file into the area - for best results, the image needs to be 1950px x 450px or larger and a jpg or png file

c. Once uploaded, you will receive the success message

d. Click back on view my profile

e. Click on view my profile




h. You can reposition the cover picture by hovering over the image and clicking on the direction arrows and dragging the image to fit the area better


i. Then click 'Save changes'



10. How to update your profile picture

a. Your profile picture will be used on your profile throughout the site

b. Hover over the profile image area and click on the camera that appears



c. Click on select your file or drag and drop your file into the area - for best results, the image needs to be 300px x 300px or larger and a jpg or png file

    a. You can also take a photo and upload it directly

d. Once uploaded, you can adjust and crop the photo, so it fits the circular area better



e. Then click crop photo

f. You will receive the success message and you’ll be able to see you profile picture in the top right of your screen


g. Click back on 'View my profile'


11. Some fields are required and other fields are optional:

    a. Required:

        i. First name

        ii. Last name

        iii. Nickname

        iv. Company name


    b. Other optional fields to complete will help other Chamber members get to know a bit more about you! If the below fields are blank, they will not appear on your profile and they won’t be searchable by other member – don’t miss out on creating new connections! Please make sure you set all of the below fields to 'Public':

        i. Job title

        ii. Social links – LinkedIn and Twitter

        iii. About you – tell us a bit about yourself

        iv. Tell us a fun fact about yourself

        v. What you specialise in

        vi. Where are you based

        vii. What’s your greatest achievement

        viii. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given



    c. Once you have finished editing your profile, scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘save changes’

d. Then click ‘view my profile’ to see what other members will be able to view
